Dr Timothy Baxter

Research Summary

As Research Fellow in Biocultural Heritage, Tim's project adopts an interdisciplinary approach drawing on methods and understanding from marine ecology, heritage studies, and coastal management, to gain a holistic understanding of the bio-cultural and functional benefits generated by decommissioned and derelict coastal heritage assets and document how these benefits evolve over time as structures advance through progressive stages of release and renewal. By achieving this aim, the project will gather vital evidence needed to achieve proof of concept, promote policy change, and facilitate the wider application of AR in coastal environments.

CV

Timothy Baxter is a physical geographer with expertise in the two-way interactions between wildlife and the physical environment in the coastal zone. He holds a B.A. in Geography from the University of Oxford, an M.Sc. in Geophysical Hazards and an M.Res. in Science and Engineering in Arts, Heritage and Archaeology from University College London (UCL), and a D.Phil. (Ph.D.) in Geography from the University of Oxford.
